NOTIFICATION
The Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry is pleased to approve the proposal for enhancement of superannuation pension and family pension to the handloom weavers in the Union territory of Puducherry and for the said purpose, hereby makes the following rules to further amend 'The Puducherry Handlooms Weavers' Welfare Fund Rules, 1989 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), issued vide Notification under G.O. Ms. No. 11/Coop., dated 1-8-1989 of the Chief Secretariat (Cooperation), Puducherry, namely:-

AMENDMENT
1. Short title and commencement.— (i) These rules may be called "The Puducherry Handloom Weavers' Welfare Fund (Amendment) Rules, 2016".
(ii) They shall come into force at once.
2. In the Puducherry Handloom Weavers' Welfare Fund Rules, 1989,
as amended from time to time, under schedule II.
(i) in clause 4, the following shall be substituted, namely:-
"4. The quantum of superannuation pension-
The quantum of superannuation pension payable per mensum shall be based on age-wise classification as detailed in the Table below, in case of eligible weaver member who has earned an average wage of not less than ` 300 mensum in each year of the three years preceeding the date of retirement:-

Provided that, the existing recipient of pension shall continue to draw pension at the rate prescribed in column(3) corresponding to the recipient's age group as at column(2) of the Table above".
(ii) in clause 5, the following shall be substituted, namely:-
"5. The quantum of family pension:
The quantum of family pension payable per mensum shall be based on age-wise classification as detailed in the Table below, to the nominee or the legal heir, as the case may be of the deceased weaver member who has earned an average wage of not less than ` 300 per mensum in each of the three years preceeding the month in which the death occurs.

3. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department,
vide their U.O.No. 3174/F5/A2, dated 18-2-2016.
