NOTIFICATION
Whereas, in view of the ensuing General Elections to the Puducherry Legislative Assembly, 2016, the rate charts for various items that are going to be used by the political parties as well as contesting candidates for the ensuing elections in order to access the election expenditure of contesting candidates were issued vide Gazette Notifications No. 21 and 42, dated 14-3-2016 and 8-4-2016 respectively.
LA GAZETTE DE L'ETAT [ PART-I 642 642And whereas, the rate for banner has not been notified, since, there is a ban
for all items of advertisement that disturb the public place as well as private properties,
in view of the Election Commission of India instructions. Based on the instructions
a Notification was issued vide No. 1401/DM/RO/D2/GEHP/2016, dated 4-3-2016
by the Secretary to Government (Revenue), Puducherry stressing that no person
shall impair or interfere with the appearance and beauty or damage, disfigure, erect,
fix, spoil or injure in any manner or deface any place open to public view in the
whole of the Union territory of Puducherry for the purpose of political propaganda
and electioneering till the completion of General Elections to Puducherry Legislative
Assembly, 2016.
And whereas, as per the recent instructions of Election Commission of India
regarding the political parties are permitted to fix the banners inside the premises
of the election meeting.
Now, therefore, in view of the above Election Commission of India instructions,
the following addendum to the notification cited above, namely:
ADDENDUM
In the annexure the Notification No. 21, dated 14-3-2016 of the District Elections
Officer, Puducherry:-
(i) After the Serial No. 49 at page 164, under the heading "General Election
of Puducherry Legislative Assembly 2016-available rates for the labour,
machinery and minor works" the following entry shall be included:-
50 Banner per sq.ft. ` 8
