1. Short title and commencement.— (1) These rules may be called "The Puducherry Old Age Persons and Destitutes Pension (Amendment) Rules, 2016".
(2) It shall come into force on and from the date of its
publication in the Official Gazette.
AMENDMENT
1 . A me nd me nt o f ru le 1 4 . — I n su b - r u l e( 5 ) o f r ul e 1 4 o f "The Puducherry Old Age Persons and Destitutes Pension Rules, 2011", the following shall be substituted, namely:–
"(5) On being satisfied as to the genuineness of the claim, the Director shall sanction the assistance and payment shall be made by the Deputy Director (SD) from the imprest of Puducherry region. In other regions, the concerned Regional Administrators or Branch Officers of the Department shall be the competent authority to sanction the assistance and payment shall be made from the imprest of the sub-offices concerned, subject to the fulfillment of eligibility conditions. The amount shall subsequently be recouped, debiting the expenditure to the concerned Head of Account of the Scheme".
2. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department,
vide their U.O. No. 1711/FC/FD/F5/A2/2016, dated 22-8-2016.
