NOTIFICATION
Under section 25 of Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (Central Act XXVI of 1881), read with notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs S.O. 358(E), dated 28th June 1973, the Government of Puducherry hereby declares Tuesday, the 6th December 2016 as a public holiday as a mark of respect to the late Selvi J. Jayalalithaa, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
2. The above notified public holiday shall also apply to all Government Undertakings/Corporations/Boards, etc,.

ORDER
As a mark of respect to the late Selvi J. Jayalalithaa, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, State Mourning shall be observed for three days with effect from Tuesday the 6th December, 2016. The National Flag will be flown at half-mast for 3 days from 6th December, 2016 throughout the Union territory of Puducherry on all the buildings where it is flown regularly, it has been decided that as a mark of respect to the departed leader, there shall be no official entertainment during the period of State Mourning.
