NOTIFICATION
The Lieutenant-Governor is pleased to approve the proposal for
enhancement of financial assistance to Indigent Tamil Scholars in the
Union territory of Puducherry and for the said purpose, hereby makes
the further amendment to the "Scheme for the Grant of Financial Assistance
to Indigent Tamil Scholars in the Union territory of Puducherry"
(hereinafter referred to as the said Scheme) notified in G.O. Ms. No. 47,
dated 24-9-1997 of the Chief Secretariat (Art and Culture) and published
in the Extraordinary Gazette–Part-I No. l19, dated 26-10-1997 as follows:

AMENDMENT
Amendment of clause 2:
In the said Scheme , in clause (2)(ii) under the heading 'Eligibility', for the words and letters thereof, the following shall be substituted, namely:—
'The annual income of the applicant shall not exceed ` 75,000 (Rupees seventy-five thousand only). Income Certificate from Revenue Authority shall be furnished along with the application and at the commencement of every financial year'.
Amendment of clause 3:
(1) In the said Scheme, in clause 3, under the heading 'Amount', for the words and letters thereof, the following shall be substituted, namely:—
The quantum of assistance under this Scheme shall be as
follows:—

1 Age group up to 59 years of age ` 1,650 (Rupees one thousand six
hundred and fifty only).
2 Age group of 60-79 years of age ` 2,200 (Rupees two thousand two
hundred only).
3 Age group of 80 years and above ` 3,250 (Rupees three thousand
two hundred and fifty only).
Amendment of clause 7:
1. In the said Scheme, in sub-clause(i) in clause 7, under the heading 'Discontinuance of allowance', for the words and letters thereof, the following shall be substituted namely:—
"Subject to the conditions under (ii) and (iii), if, the annual financial means of the recipients of the allowance is provided to be above ` 75,000 the financial assistance granted under this
Scheme shall be discontinued".

2. The notification shall come into force with effect from 1-5-2015.
3. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department
vide their U.O. No. 3343/F4/2016, dated 17-2-2016.
