ORDER
Whereas, the Goods and Services Tax has been implemented in the Union territory of Puducherry with effect from 1st July, 2017, vide the Puducherry Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. The Commercial Taxes Department which was earlier dealing with goods in the earlier VAT regime is also to administer Services in the GST regime.
2. Whereas, the Assessment Divisions were created in the Department in line with requirement under the earlier Laws. Now, in view of the implementation of GST, it has become imperative to create a separate Assessment Division to handle "Services" in the GST regime.
3. Therefore, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, is pleased to reorganise the Commercial Taxes Department as below:

The Government of Puducherry has notified the revised rates for the supply of water to various categories of consumers in Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam regions and for collection of non-refundable one-time security deposit as detailed in the Annexure (both in English and Tamil) vide notification issued in the G. O. Ms. No. 5, dated 13-2-2017 of the Chief Secretariat (Works), Government of Puducherry with effect from 1-4-2017 and also to adopt the same in the Municipalities and Commune Panchayats. Based on this, the Local Administration Secretariat, Puducherry has also issued order vide G. O. Ms. No. 37/LAS/2017, dated 22-3-2017 for the upward revision of water charges, other charges and the amount of non-refundable one time security deposit for supply of water from the systems to the consumers and the proceedings of the Designated Officer, MCP Council vide No. 34-2/MCP/2017-18/Estt., dated 21-6-2017. The same is published in the Official Gazette for information of the public.
