ORDER UNDER SECTION 133 of Cr. P.C.
Whereas, the abnormal number of dengue cases reported in the Puducherry region prompted this District Administration to take several preventive measures a n d a wa r e n e s s p r o g r a m m e s i n c o o r d i n a t i o n wi t h H e a l t h D e p a r t m e n t , Local Administration Department, Education Department, Industries Department, NSS, Nehru Yuvak Kendra and other organisations;

LA GAZETTE DE L'ETAT [PART - I And whereas, it is noticed that in the urban areas of Puducherry and Oulgaret Municipalities, a vast extent of lands has been laid as house plots and many people have purchased these plots. However, many of these plots are found to be vacant and are being used as dumping grounds. These vacant plots have also become breeding grounds for mosquitoes as well as venomous reptiles endangering human health and lives. The vacant plots have thus become a source of vectors of such dreaded diseases and poisonous creatures;
And whereas, the lack of interest shown by the owners of these vacant plots in maintaining cleanliness has resulted in public nuisance causing health hazard to the public;
Now therefore, I, Dr. Satyendra Singh Dursawat, I.A.S., District Collector of Puducherry District in the capacity of District Magistrate hereby direct the owners of the vacant plots lying within the municipal limits of Puducherry and Oulgaret under section 133 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to clear their vacant plots and maintain them free from garbages, hedge growths, shrubs, bushes and filth and to ensure proper drainage of water collecting in these plots in whatsoever manner, within three days from the date of issue of this order, failure of which will attract fine, action under Indian Penal Code and freezing of GLR value of that plot.
