NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 35 of the Contract Labour [Regulation and Abolition] Act, 1970 (Central Act 37 of 1970), the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Pondicherry Contract Labour [Regulation and Abolition] Rules, 1973, the Draft of the same having been previously published in the Extraordinary issue of the Official Gazette No. 23, dated 14th May, 2018, as required under sub-section (1) of section 35 of the said Act and no objection/suggestion having been
received in response thereto:

1. Short title and commencement.— (1) These rules may be
called the Puducherry Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition)
Amendment Rules, 2018.
(2) They shall come into force on and from the date of their
publication in the Official Gazette.
2. Amendment of rule 24.— In the said rules, for the existing
word and figures "` 90" the word and figures "` 500" shall be
substituted.
3. Amendment of rule 26.— In the said rules, for the existing
sub-rules (1) and (2) of rule 26, the following shall be substituted,
namely:-
"(1) The fees to be paid for the grant of certificate of
registration under section 7 shall be as specified below, namely:-
If, the number of workmen proposed to be employed on
contract on any day.
`
(a) Up to 50
. . 2,500
(b) Exceeds 50 but, does not exceed 100 . . 5,000
(c) Exceeds 100 but, does not exceed 200 . . 10,000
(d) Exceeds 200 . . 20,000
(2) The fees to be paid for the grant of a Licence under section 12
shall be specified below, namely:-
If, the number of workmen employed by the contractor on any day-

4. Amendment of rule 30.— In the said rules, for the existing
word and figure "` 5" the word and figures "` 500" shall be substituted.
