NOTIFICATION
Whereas, the Irular (including Villi and Vettaikaran) Community has been notified as Scheduled Tribes in the Union territory of Puducherry, vide Notification issued in G.S.R. 1167(E), dated 22nd December, 2016 of the Legislative Department, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India, New Delhi and the same has been republished by the Law Department, Government of Puducherry, in the Gazette of Puducherry, Extraordinary Part-I No. 6, dated 10th January, 2017 and the Lieutenant-Governor has ordered for grant of 0.5% reservation to Scheduled Tribes in respect of recruitment to Group "C" and "D" posts as well as for admissions in Educational Institutions, etc., with effect from 08-03-2019.
PART-I ] LA GAZETTE DE L'ETAT 218Now, the Lieutenant-Governor is pleased to further order that the reservation for Scheduled Tribes in respect of recruitment in Government Departments/Organizations, admissions in Educational Institutions and beneficiary-oriented socio-economic welfare schemes implemented by different Departments takes effect from 22-12-2016 i.e., the date of issuance of Presidential Order "The Constitution (Puducherry) Scheduled Tribes Order, 2016" and the backlog vacancies due to this carried forward in all posts.
