NOTIFICATION
S.O....In exercise of the powers conferred under section 7 of the Prisons Act, 1894, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, hereby declares the Indira Gandhi Arts and Science College, Kadirkamam, Puducherry, as Temporary Prison for the detention of persons who are violating provisions of Disaster Management Act and other orders of the Government, issued in connection with the pandemic novel Corona COVID-19.
2. Approval is also accorded to provide a sum of `10,00,000 (Rupees ten lakhs only) from the State Disaster Relief Fund to meet the expense for providing diet/non-diet and for carrying out temporary arrangements/repairs by Public Works Department, as suggested in the inspection report.
3. The Police Department shall provide necessary security arrangements to the above Temporary Prison.
LA GAZETTE DE L'ETAT [ PART-I 294 2944. The Electricity Department shall carryout the works indicated in the inspection report in the proposed temporary prison.
5. The Jail Department shall spare one Assistant Superintendent of Jail, one Principal Warder and four Male Warder to the above Temporary Jail in support of Police security arrangements.
6. All the civil/electrical works mentioned in the report shall be done on war footing basis by the concerned Departments, so that the Temporary Jail will function at the earliest.
