NOTIFICATION
The Lieutenant-Governo r, Puducherry, is pleased to approve the
amendment for the revisi on of eli gibility criteria, methodolo gy o f
se lect ion and mode of dis tri bu ti on u nde r th e Sc heme "Welfa re a nd
Relief for Fishermen during Lean Season and Natural Calamities, 2008"
for i mplementa tion in t he Union territor y of Pudu cherry and was

previously notified G.O. Ms. No.14 /Fy., dated 08-09-2009 of the Department of R ur al D evel opme nt , Chie f Se cr et ar ia t (F is he ri es ) and pu bl ished Extraordinary Part-II, Gazette No. 29 of the Government of Puducherry, dated 10-09-20 09 (hereafter referred to as the said Scheme), namely:—

I.
(i) This Scheme may be called the "Welfare and Relief fo r Fishermen during Lean Season and Natural Calamities (Amendment) Scheme, 2020".
(ii) It shall extend to t he who le o f the Uni on territo ry of
Puducherry.
(iii) It shall come into force with effect from the date of its
publication in the Official Gazette.
II. AMENDMENT
ખ્menફૂment ંf cર્શ્રી use ૪.—
1.
(a) In the said Scheme, for sub-clause ( i) of cla use 4 ,
the following shall be substituted:–
"(i) Beneficiary shall be a fisherman whose annual income does

not exceed 2,00,000 per annum"
(b) In the said Scheme, for sub-c lause (ii ) of clau se 4 ,
the following shall be substituted:–
"(ii) Beneficiary shall be in possession of Ration Card issued by Department of Civil Supplies and C o nsumer Af fairs, Puducherry".
(c) In the said Scheme, fo r sub-cl ause (iii ) of clau se 4 ,
the following shall be substituted:–
" ( ii i ) B e ne fi c i a ry s ha l l ho l d a m e mbe r s hi p c er t i fi c a t e a s pro of obt ai ne d f r om F i she rm en Co - o per a ti ve So c ie t y in the Union territory of Pu ducherry":
(d) In the said Scheme, sub-clause (iv) of clause 4, shall be deleted.
2.
In the said Scheme for clause 6 ,

Methodology of se lec tion.–
"6.
Application shall be called for from fishermen and such applications shall be scrutinized by the Enquiry Officer and shall recommend fo r consideration for the grant of Ban/Lean Season Assistance".

3.
In the said Scheme, fo r clause 8, the
following shall be substituted, namely:–
Mode of distribution.—
"8.
Benefit s shall be sent to the
beneficiaries Bank Account directly thro ugh ECS. The mode o f
payment of relief shall also be followed as per the orders issued
by the Finance Department from time to time".
4. All other terms and conditions stipulated in the G.O. Ms. No.14/Fy.,
dated 08-09-2009 of the De partment o f Rural De velo pment, Chief
Secretariat (Fisheries), Puducherry, remain unaltered.
5. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department,
