LABOUR DEPARTMENT

(G.O. Ms. No. 02/AIL/Lab./G/2021, Puducherry, dated 15th February 2021) NOTIFICATION In pursuance of implementation of the 'Business Reform Action Plan-Ease of Doing Business' as formulated by the Government of India, New Delhi, the Government of Puducherry has proposed to formulate "Self Certification-cum-Online Common Inspection Scheme'' for shops and other establishments in the Union territory of Puducherry, so as to liberalize the enforcement of Labour Laws and notification to this effect have been issued vide G.O.Ms.No. 05/AIL/LAB/G/2020, dated 07-08-2020, published in the Extraordinary Official Gazette of Puducherry Part-II, No. 41, dated 12-08-2020. AMENDMENT

2. Insertion of new para 7(i).—In the said notification, after para

No. 7, the following shall be inserted, namely:-

"7(i).—Based on complaints, inspections or surprise inspections shall be conducted with specific permissions from the Labour Commissioner.

(ii) Joint Inspection shall be conducted by the Inspecting Officers

in respect of the following Acts;

(1) The Equal Remuneration Act, 1976;

(2) The Maternity Benefit Act, 1961;

(3) The Minimum Wages Act, 1948;

(4) The Puducherry Shops and Establishments Act, 1964;

(5) The Payment of Bonus Act, 1965;

(6) The Payment of Wages Act, 1936;

(7) The Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972 and

(8) The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970".
