CLARIFICATION ISSUED IN PURSUANCE OF THE ORDER,
DATED 04-04-2021 IN WP NO. 8980 OF 2021 BY THE HON'BLE
HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT MADRAS
Whereas, an Order under section 144 of Cr.P.C. has been issued by this Office Order No. 1203/DM/D1/GEPLA/2021, dated 22-03-2021 issued under section 144 of Cr.P.C.;
2. And whereas, the Hon'ble High Court of Judicature at Madras vide Order, dated 04-04-2021 in Writ Petition No. 8980 of 2021, has directed to issue clarification to the abovesaid order issued by this office;
LA GAZETTE DE L'ETAT [ PART-I 694 6943. Now, therefore, in due compliance of the said direction of the Hon'ble High Court, the following clarifications to the above referred order of this office, are issued.
(i) The expression "Prohibit the unlawful assembly and movement" appearing in the order, will not stand in the way of citizens going about their normal business and chores, and gathering for private functions. The prohibition in the above referred order, shall not deter friends and family congregating together to go to vote and celebrate the festival of democracy in proper spirit.
(ii) It is made abundantly clear that the prohibition of unlawful assembly and movement in terms of the relevant order will not affect the usual life of citizens as they go about their business and chores.
