NOTIFICATION

Whereas , in the G.O. Ms. No. 49 /LAS /2019 , dated 07-03-2019 of the Local Administration Secretariat, published in the Official Gazette of Puducherry [Extraordinary (Part - I ) ] bearing No. 37 , dated 07-03-2019 , the Government has notified the Delimitation of Municipal Wards for the purpose of conduct of elections to the Municipalities .

And whereas , in the said G.O. , in Annexure - I [ Statement showing the Wards into which Municipalities have been divided and the extent of each such Municipal Wards ] , some errors in the boundaries of the ward ( s ) , list of areas / streets included in the ward(s ) , and clerical errors , etc. , have occurred in respect of Wards of Oulgaret Municipality , Mahe Municipality and Yanam Municipality as mentioned below: -

And whereas , it has been considered necessaryto correct such errors in order to facilitate preparation of error free electoral roll and ultimately smooth conduct of elections to Municipalities without any hitch .

And whereas , the objections or suggestions were called for from the general public vide Notification in G.O. Ms. No. 12/ LAS / 2021 , dated 19-05-2021 of the Local Administration Secretariat and published in the Official Gazette of Puducherry [ Extraordinary (Part - I ) ] bearing No. 101 , dated 19-05-2021 and the objections or suggestions received in this regard have been considered by the Government and after hearing the objections or suggestion, thereof, the Amendment Notification issued in G.O. Ms. No. 12/LAS / 2021 , dated 19-05-2021 of the Local Administration Secretariat , published in the Official Gazette of Puducherry [Extraordinary (Part - I ) ] bearing No. 101 , dated 19-05-2021 , has been finalized as such; Now, therefore , in exercise of the powers conferred under sub - section ( 1 ) of section 16 , read with section 9 of the Puducherry Municipalities Act , 1973 (No.9 of 1973) , the Lieutenant-Governor , Puducherry, hereby confirms the Amendment Notification issued in G.O. Ms. No. 12 /LAS / 2021 , dated 19-05-2021 of the Local Administration Secretariat , published in the Official Gazette of Puducherry [Extraordinary (Part - I ) ] bearing No. 101 , dated 19-05-2021 and orders that it shall be the final notification .
