Ms. No. 06/2021-WCD(SW-IV), Puducherry, dated 23rd July 2021] NOTIFICATION In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 11 of the Women's and Children's Institutions (Licensing) Act, 1956 (Act No. 105 of 1956), the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, is pleased to make further Amendment to the Puducherry Women's and Children's Institutions (Licensing) Rules, 1984, hereinafter, referred to as the rules notified vide G.O. Ms. No. 19/84-HEW(SW), dated 6th March, 1984 of the Welfare Secretariat, Puducherry and published in the Gazette of Puducherry, Extraordinary Part-II, No. 5, dated 6th March, 1984, namely:- [ 89 ]

AMENDMENT

1. Short title and commencement.— (1) These rules may be called "The Puducherry Women's and Children's Institutions (Licensing) [Amendment] Rules, 2021".

(2) It shall come into force in the Union territory of Puducherry

from the date of its notification in the Official Gazette.

2. In the said rules, on sub-rule (b) of rule 2, the following shall

be substituted, namely:–

"(b) 'Director' means, Director of Women and Child

Development".

3. In the said rules, in rule 3, the following shall be substituted,

namely:–

"The Director of Women and Child Development shall be

Licensing Authority under this Act".
