NOTICE OF ELECTION
Election to the Council of States
Notice is hereby given that—
(1) an election is to be held of a Member to the Council of States by the Elected Members of the Puducherry Legislative Assembly;
(2) nomination papers may be delivered by a candidate or by anyone of his proposers to the Returning Officer or to the Assistant Returning Officer, at the premises of the Legislative Assembly Secretariat, Victor Simonel Street, Puducherry-605 001, between 11.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. on any day (other than public holidays) not later than 22nd September, 2021;
PART-I ] LA GAZETTE DE L'ETAT 2413(3) forms of the nomination paper may be obtained at the place and time aforesaid;
(4) nomination papers will be taken up for scrutiny at the office mentioned in papragraph (2) above, on 23rd September, 2021 at 12.00 noon;
(5) notice of withdrawal of candidature may be delivered by a candidate or by anyone of his propose rs or by his election agent who has b e e n a u t h o r i s e d i n w r i t i n g b y t h e c a n d i d a t e t o d e l i v e r i t t o e i t h e r o f the Officers specified in paragraph (2) above, at his office before 3.00 p.m. on 27th September, 2021;
(6) in the event of the election being contested, the poll will be taken on 4th October, 2021 between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. in the Conference Hall, 4th Floor, Phase-II Building, Legislative Assembly Complex, Victor Simonel Street, Puducherry-605 001.
