NOTIFICATION
Whereas, in the Annexure-V of the Notification issued vide G.O. Ms. No. 50/LAS/2019, dated 07-03-2019 of the Local Administration Secretariat, Puducherry and published vide Part-I of the Extraordinary Official Gazette of Puducherry, No. 38, dated 07-03-2019, the Government has notified reservation of seats for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Scheduled Caste Women, Scheduled Tribe Women and General Women in the Village Panchayats for the purpose of conduct of Elections to the Village Panchayats;
[ 2597 ]LA GAZETTE DE L'ETAT [ PART-I 2598 2598 And whereas, in the said Government Order, in Annexure-V [Statement showing the reservation of seats in Village Panchayats], few errors in the Scheduled Castes population, percentage of Scheduled Castes population and total number of seats reserved for women (Scheduled Caste Women and General Women) have occurred in respect of Abishegapakkam Village Panchayat in Ariyankuppam Commune Panchayat and Manavely (North) Village Panchayat and Odiampet (West) Village Panchayat in Villianur Commune Panchayat;
And whereas, it has been considered necessary to correct such errors in order to facilitate for the preparation of error free data of reservation of seats in the conduct of Elections to the Village Panchayats without any hitch;
And whereas, the objections or suggestions were called for from the general public in Notification issued vide G.O. Ms. No. 35/LAS/2021, dated 03-09-2021 of Local Administration Secretariat, Puducherry and published vide Part-I of the Extraordinary Official Gazette of Puducherry, No. 180, dated 03-09-2021 and the objections or suggestions received in this regard is "Nil" thereof and the Amendment Notification issued in the G.O. Ms. No. 35/LAS/2021, dated 03-09-2021 of Local Administration Secretariat, Puducherry and published vide Part-I of the Extraordinary Official Gazette of Puducherry, No. 180, dated 03-09-2021 has been finalized as such;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (1) of section 12, read with section 11 of the Puducherry Village and Commune Panchayats Act, 1973 (No. 10 of 1973), the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, hereby confirms the Amendment Notification issued vide G.O. Ms. No. 35/LAS/2021, dated 03-09-2021 of Local Administration Secretariat, Puducherry and published vide Part-I of the Extraordinary Official Gazette of Puducherry, No. 180, dated 03-09-2021 and orders that it shall be final notification.
