NOTIFICATION

The Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan (SUMAN) has been launched for ensuring assured, dignified, respectful and qualify health care at no cost and zero tolerance for denial of services, for every woman and newborn visiting the public health facility in order to end all preventable maternal and newborn deaths and morbidities and provide a positive birthing experience. According to this, the details of the facilities available in the Union territory of Puduchery as classified under SUMAN similar to L1, L2 and L3 facilities defined in MNH Toolkit is given under.

(3) L2/BEmONC * Normal delivery; BEmOC including signal functions and referral 24 x 7 PHCs – 10 in case of complications requiring CEmOC. CHCs – 04 * Care of the sick newborn and referral after stabilization.

* Management or referral of HIV positive mother and newborn.

L3/CEmONC * Normal delivery, CEmOC services including comprehensive signal DH – 4, functions, management of complications, COsection and referral IGGMC&RI, of complications to tertiary level care where required. JIPMER * Care of sick newborn including Kangroo Mother Care.

* Management of HIV positive mother and newborn.
