ORDER

The Fee Committee was originally constituted as per the orders of the Government of Puducherry in G.O. Ms. No. 63, dated 25-05-2006 of Chief Secretariat (Education), Puducherry, which has been ordered to continue to function as per G.O. Ms. No. 14, dated 06-03-2015 of Chief Secretariat (Education), Puducherry. The Fee Committee was reconstituted vide G.O. Ms. No. 13, dated 07-06-2021 of Chief Secretariat (Higher and Technical Education), Puducherry, under the Chairmanship of Mr. Justice T. Sudandiram, Judge (Retd.,) High Court of Madras.

The Fee Committee under the Chairmanship of Justice T. Sudandiram, Judge (Retd.,), High Court of Madras, in its meeting held on 11-07-2022 , 06-10-2022 and 17-10-2022 revised the fee structure for Postgraduate Medical/ Postgraduate Dental/MBBS/B.Sc. (Nursing) for 2022-2023.

[ 1937 ]LA GAZETTE DE L'ETAT [ PART-I 1938 1938 The above was considered by the Hon'ble Lieutenant-Governor and observed that the Tamil Nadu Government for admission of students in Self Financing Medical Colleges was having a seat sharing arrangement of 65% Government Quota and 35% Management Quota for Non-Minority Institutions. This arrangement was in vogue for several years. With this arrangement, the fee fixed for UG MBBS Medical Course for Government Quota is ranging from ` 4.35 lakhs to ` 4.50 lakhs and for Management Quota, the fee is ` 13.50 lakhs. In case of Puducherry Private Medical Colleges, the seat sharing for Government Quota for MBBS Medical Course, it is learnt through various representations that it was below 50%. However, the fee proposed to be fixed was ` 4.80 lakhs for Government Quota and ` 20.00 lakhs for Management Quota. The Fee Committee in its proceeding has noted that the Institutions were not submitting segment-wise statement of accounts and it was difficult to segregate the income and expenses.

Hence, in the absence of proper justification for the proposed fee structure, the status quo regarding the fee structure for all the medical courses shall be maintained for the academic year 2022-2023.

In view of the above, the Hon'ble Lieutenant-Governor is pleased to order that the fee structure for various Postgraduate Medical/Postgraduate Dental/MBBS/B.Sc. (Nursing) courses in unaided Self-Financing Private Medical/ Dental/Paramedical Colleges, functioning in the Union territory of Puducherry, for the year 2022-2023 shall continue to be the same existing fee structure as referred in the (1) G.O. Ms. No. 24, dated 03-07-2018, (2) G.O. Ms. No. 25, dated 03-07-2018, (3) G.O. Ms. No. 14, dated 07-03-2019, (4) G.O. Ms. No. 39, dated 15-07-2019 and (5) G.O. Ms. No. 69, dated 22-07-2022 of this Secretariat as detailed in the Annexure to this Order.
