NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 28 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (Central Act 35 of 2019) read with sub-rule (1) of rule 6 of the Consumer Protection (qualification for appointment, method of recruitment, procedure of appointment, term of office, resignation and removal of the President and Members of the State Commission and District Commission) Rules, 2020, notified by Government of India vide G.S.R.452(E), New Delhi, dated 15th July, 2020, the Hon'ble Lieutenant-Governor o f P u d u c h e r r y i s p l e a s e d t o a p p o i n t T h i r u S . M o u t t o u v e l , s/o Srinivasan, No.26, Pillayar Koil Street, Kanapathichettikulam, Puducherry-605 014, as the President of the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Puducherry.

2. The appointment shall be for a period of 4 years from the date of assumption of charge or up to the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.

3. The appointment shall be subject to submission of a certificate of physical fitness as indicated in the annexure appended to the Consumer Protection (qualification for appointment, method of recruitment, procedure of appointment, term of office, resignation and removal of the President and Members of the State Commission and District Commission) Rules, 2020.

4. The salary, allowances and conditions of service of the above appointment shall be governed by the Puducherry Consumer Protection (salary, allowances and conditions of service of President and Members of the State Commission and District Commission) Rules, 2021.
