In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-section (3) of section 3 of the National Security Act, 1980 (Central Act 65 of 1980), the Government of Puducherry hereby extends the powers conferred in the said sub-section for a further period of three months from 28th April, 2023.

NOTIFICATION

Whereas, orders were issued in pursuance of sub-section (3) of section 3 of the National Security Act, 1980 (Central Act 65 of 1980), directing that the District Magistrate, Puducherry and Karaikal, may also, if satisfied, as provided in sub-section (2) of the said section, exercise the powers conferred by the said sub-section for a period of three months from 28th January, 2023, vide Home Department's Notification issued in G.O. Ms. No. 05, dated 24th January 2023;

2. And whereas, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, having regard to the circumstances prevailing in the Union territory of Puducherry, is satisfied that it is necessary to extend the said period by three months from 28th April, 2023;

3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-section (3) of section 3 of the National Security Act, 1980 (Central Act 65 of 1980), the Government of Puducherry hereby extends the powers conferred in the said sub-section for a further period of three months from 28th April, 2023.
