NOTICE
It is planned to constitute a Town Vending Committee (TVC) for street vendors vending business in Karaikal Municipal limits through the National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM) Scheme as per the Puducherry Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014 and Puducherry Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Rules, 2017 by holding an election among them, so that they can avail the Welfare Schemes of the Central Government without any hindrance.
The Election will be conducted for 12 Members out of 30 Members of the Town Vending Committee as stipulated in section No. 22 and rule No. 13 of the above said Act and Rules. These 12 Members are elected among themselves by the Street Vendors. As mandated by rule 13(2) of the Puducherry Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Rules, 2017, Thiru R. Sellamuthu, Tahsildar, Collectorate, Karaikal, has been appointed as Returning Officer to conduct the Elections. The venue and date of the Election will be announced later.
