Sealed tenders quoting the rate per kilogram (excluding GST) are invited from the local tenderers for sale of old books belonging to the Directorate of Art and Culture, Puducherry.

Terms and conditions

Rate per kilogram (1) Old books . . ` 2. Sealed tenders should be addressed to the Director, Department of Art and Culture, Puducherry- 605 00, duly superscripted on the envelop as "Tender for the purchase of old books" and should reach this office on or before 28-11-2023 by 4.30 p.m. The tenders will be opened on 29-11-2023 at 10.30 a.m. in the presence of the tenderers, if any of them in the office of the undersigned.

3. The intending tenderers can inspect the old books during office hours in the Government Branch Library, Maducarai, Thonadamanatham, Pillayarkuppam, of this Department with prior permission of the incharges of the concerned libraries.

4. A copy of any of the following self-attested documents should be submitted by the tenderers : (a) Valid Family Ration Card/Smart Card, (b) Valid GST Certificate and (c) Aadhaar Card along with the tenders.

6. The earnest money deposit of the unsuccessful tenderers will be returned immediately after the tender sale is over, whereas, the earnest money deposit of the successful tenderer will be returned after the official process will be completed in all respects.

7. The tenders received after the due date and time will not be entertained.

8. Once the tender process is completed, no claim related with the quantity and quality of the books will be admitted.

9. The successful tenderer should pay the full amount including GST as applicable under the rules in force and clear the items within 15 days from the above three places of this Directorate at their own risk and cost, failing which the entire amount of earnest money deposit will be forfeited.

10. The undersigned reserves the right to accept or reject any tender in part or whole without assigning any reason thereof.

11. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Director will be the final.

12. GST will be collected on the sale of old books as per the rate prevailing at the time of sale/disposal.
