Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, is pleased to declare, Friday, the 19th April, 2024 as Public Holiday/Paid Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 for all Government Offices/Institutions/Local Bodies/ Commercial and Industrial Establishments both public and private, located in the Union territory of Puducherry, in order to enable the Electors employed therein to exercise their franchise in the General Elections to the Lok Sabha, 2024.

NOTIFICATION

In pursuance of the explanation to section 25 of Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (Act XXVI of 1881), the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, is pleased to declare, Friday, the 19th April, 2024 as Public Holiday/Paid Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 for all Government Offices/Institutions/Local Bodies/ Commercial and Industrial Establishments both public and private, located in the Union territory of Puducherry, in order to enable the Electors employed therein to exercise their franchise in the General Elections to the Lok Sabha, 2024.

2. This will be a Paid Holiday under section 135 B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 for the workers employed on daily wages in various Departments of this Administration.
