Chi ef Secretariat (Environment), Government of Puducherry, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, in excise of the powers conferred by sections 6, 8 and 25 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, (26 of 1986), the Central Government has further amended the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016 and thereby imposed ban on few additional Single Use Plastic items vide Notification in G.S.R.No. 571(E), dated 12th August of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.
