NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred under section 20 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, the Hon'ble Lieutenant-Governor of Puducherry, is pleased to notify the following nominated Senior Scientific Assistant and Junior Scientific Assistant of the Central Drugs Testing Laboratory, National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories, Chennai, as a "Government Analyst" for Union territory of Puducherry, to conduct test and analysis of statutory samples of Drugs and Cosmetics on behalf of the Union territory of Puducherry, with immediate effect:

1 Smt. G. Sasikala Senior Scientific Assistant Central Drugs Testing 2 Shri Kishor Gembali Junior Scientific Assistant Laboratory, Chennai.
2. The nominated Senior Scientific Assistant and Junior Scientific Assistant of the Central Drugs Testing Laboratory, Chennai as a 'Government Analyst', shall cause to be analysed or tested, such samples of drugs and cosmetics, as may be sent to him/her by Inspectors or other persons under the provisions of Chapter-IV of the Act and shall furnish reports of the results of test or analysis in accordance with Rule 45 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 within a period of sixty days of the receipt of the sample:
Provided that, where it is not possible to test or analyse the sample within the specified period, the Government Analyst shall seek extension of time from the Government, giving specific reasons for delay in such testing or analysis.
