GOVERNMENT OF PUDUCHERRY

IN THE COURT OF DISTRICT MAGISTRATE AT PUDUCHERRY

ORDER

(Under Section 163 BNSS)

Whereas, the Independence Day 2025 celebrations are scheduled to be held on 15th August 2025 at Gandhi Thidal, Beach Road, Puducherry, with the Hon'ble Chief Minister, other dignitaries, senior officials and members of the public expected to participate;

2. And whereas, elaborate security and traffic arrangements are being made for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the event;

3. And whereas, a request has been received from the Senior Superintendent of Police (L&O), Puducherry vide Lr.No. 85/SSP(L&O)-RD/2025-240, dated 07-08-2025 to declare the entire Puducherry region as "No Fly Zone" to prohibit the operation of any flying objects, including UAVs, drones, balloons, etc., on 15th August 2025, as part of the security protocol;

4. And whereas, as a precautionary measure to strengthen security, restriction on use of Aerial photography / videography in any form by usage of drones, balloons, etc., are considered necessary; and there exist sufficient ground for immediate preventive action.

5. Now, therefore, I, Kulothungan. A, I.A.S., District Magistrate, Puducherry, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by virtue under section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, do hereby declare the entire Puducherry region as a 'No Fly Zone' and prohibit the flying of any kind of aviation devices including UAV, drones, etc., on 15th August 2025.
