ORDER
In pursuance of the G.O. Ms. No. l27/LAS/97, dated 10-11-1997, Local Administration Secretariat, Puducherry, G.O. Ms. No. 103/LAS/2007, dated 17-03-2008, Local Administration Secretariat, Puducherry and G.O. Ms. No. 07/LAS/ A1/2025, dated 12-04-2025 of the Local Administration Secretariat, Puducherry, the Government has issued orders and guidelines for the implementation of the Scheme and for monitoring the Members of the Legislative Assembly's Local Development Funds. Accordingly, all the elected and nominated MLAs of the Union territory of Puducherry have become eligible to be allotted 2.00 crore (Rupees two crore) annually as a fund for undertaking works which could be taken up under the Scheme and in accordance with the procedures for implementation of the Scheme.
2. While so, the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Puducherry has given an assurance on the floor of the Legislative Assembly for enhancement of the allocation of funds under the Members of Legislative Assembly's Local Area Development Scheme Funds from 2.00 crore to 3.00 crore (Rupees three crore).
LA GAZETTE DE L'ETAT [ PART-I 498 498Accordingly, as approved by the Hon'ble Lieutenant-Governor, the allotment of funds to each elected and nominated MLAs under the Members of Legislative Assembly - Local Area Development Scheme is hereby enhanced to 3.00 crore (Rupees three crore) with effect from the financial year 2025-2026.
3. The Local Administration Department, Puducherry, shall ensure strict adherence to the Scheme Guidelines issued vide G.O. Ms. No. l27/LAS/97, dated 10-11-1997, Local Administration Secretariat, Puducherry, G.O. Ms. No. 103/LAS/ 2007, dated 17-03-2008, Local Administration Secretariat, Puducherry, G.O. Ms. No. 44/LAD(SW)/2019-20, dated 24-12-2019 of the Local Administration Secretariat, Puducherry and G.O. Ms. No. 07/LAS/A1/2025, dated 12-04-2025 of the Local Administration Secretariat, Puducherry, as amended from time to time, GFRs, CVC Guidelines and other codal formalities for selection of works while releasing the funds to the local bodies for implementing the Member of Legislative Assembly's Local Area Development Scheme.
4. The Local Administration Department, Puducherry, may ensure the progress and completion of works within a reasonable time frame by proper monitoring through the MIS/Works Monitoring Portal/LAD WINGS Portal for the progress of works entrusted to local bodies by the Government as being done for the MP-LAD Scheme, Government of India, through DRDA, Puducherry.
5. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide their I.D. No. e-35556/FC/FD/F4/Al/2025-26, dated 01-07-2025.
