NOTIFICATION

The 11th August, 2020

No. 8/49/18-4E1/1925.-The Governor of Punjab is pleased to constitute a Committee of following for suggesting measures to improve the functioning of Punjabi University, Patiala.

1) Sh. Viswajeet khanna, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue

2) Sh. Rahul Bhandari, IAS, secretary, Higher Education & Languages

3) Prof. B.S. Ghumman, Vice Chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala

2. The Terms of Reference of the Committee will be as follows.

1. To Suggest ways and measures for improving the overall financial situation of the University including:

a. Optimisation of salary budget qua Staff and Courses of the University;

b. Increasing revenues of the Universiy;

c. Rationalisation of Pay Scales and Pension Benefits for Faculty & Staff based on Government of Punjab guidelines;

d. Institutionalisation of transparent procurement procedures; and

e. Identification of any other measures to effect greater economy.

2. To Suggest review of courses and consequent retionalisation (including redeployment ) of Faculty within and across Departments.

3. To review irregular appointments made in the past for Teaching and Non- Teaching Staff and suggest action thereon.

4. To review working of Constituent Colleges, Regional Centres, Neighbourhood Campuses of the University and to suggest suitable reform measures. ( 627 ) 628 PUNJAB GOVT.         6.    To examine the current use of IT in Pedagogy, including digital delivery of content, and academic
              management of courses through Moodle.
        7.    To suggest measures for making academic courses more relevant and attractive to students.
3.      The Committee may co-opt, if necessary, the services of such experts to assist it as it may deem fit.
4.      The Committee should present its report within one month. This committee is constituted with the
approval of the chief Minister, Punjab.
