NOTIFICATION OF THE SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT

No 3/19/2020-1LG3/2366.–Municipal Council Mandi Gobindgarh has been entrusted work of planned development of Mandi Gobingarh Town. In this connection Municipal council Mandi Gobingarh has proposed to acquire Land for ROB over x-ing in the area of Sub Tehsil Mandi Gobindgarh , District Fatehgarh Sahib.

It is hereby notified that the social Impact Assessment shall be carried out in consultation with the concerned Municipal Council in the affected area. The proposed acquisition of the aforesaid ROB would entail about 10 Bigha 14 Bisva 8 Bisvasi of land. These lands shall be acquired from Revenue estate of Nasrali,Sub Tehsil Mandi Gobindgarh, District Fatehgarh Sahib . Thus affected area shall be Sub Tehsil Mandi Gobindgarh , District Fatehgarh Sahib.

Assess whether the proposed acquisition serves public purpose.

(i) Estimate number of affected families and number of families among them likely to be displaced.

(ii) Understand extent of land public and private, houses, settlement and other common properties likely to be affected by the proposed acquisition.

(iii) Understand extent of land acquired is bare minimum needed for the project

(iv) Analyze alternate place (if any)

(v) Study of the Social impacts, nature and cost of addressing them and impact of these costs on the overall cost of the project vis-à-vis the benefit of the project.

This notification is made under the provision of Section-4(I) of The RIGHT TO FAIR COMPENSATION AND TRANSPARENCY IN LAND ACQUISITION, REHABILITATION AND RESETTLEMENT ACT 2013 (NO. 30 OF 2013).

It is hereby notified that the acquisition of land under the proposed project falls under the provision of section 2(I)-(e) project for planned development. Thus, provision of section 2 (2) i.e. consent of MuncipalCouncil Land owners is not required for this project. It is to be noted that entire SIA shall be carried out in consultation with Panchayat and land owners. ( 1143 ) PUNJAB GOVT. GAZ. (EXTRA), SEPTEMBER 4, 2020 (BHDR 13, 1942 SAKA) 1144 The SIA shall commence from the date of issue of the SIA notification, which shall be completed within 6 months. The important output of the SIA shall include SIA report and SIMP along with the disclosure as prescribed under section 6 of the said act. Furthermore special provisions to safeguard food security under section 10 of the said act are not triggered as it is a linear project.
