NOTIFICATION

The 30th January, 2021

No. SEC-ME-SAM-2021/737.–The Department of Local Government, Punjab has issued Notification Nos. 3/7/2013/MEO/EA/4549, dated 27.11.2020 and No. 3/7 / 2013/MEO/EA/4589, dated 27.11.2020 and 3/7/2013/MEO/EA/49 dated 07-01-2021 that the General/Bye Elections to elect the members of Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats be held by 20-02-2021.

2. Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions contained in Section 35 of the Punjab State Election Commission Act, 1994 (Punjab Act No.19 of 1994), the State Election Commission, Punjab hereby appoints the following dates for General/Bye Elections to elect the members of Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats shown in the enclosed Schedule, in accordance with the under mentioned programme with 30th January, 2021 between 11.00 A.M. to 03.00 P.M. as the first day of filing nominations:-

PROGRAMME

(a) 3rd February, 2021 (Wednesday)

as the last date for making nominations;

(b) 4th February, 2021 (Thursday)

as the date for the scrutiny of nominations;

(c ) 5th February, 2021 (Friday)

as the date for withdrawal of candidatures;

(d) 14th February, 2021 (Sunday)

as the date on which a poll shall, if necessary be taken and;

(e) Counting of votes will take place on 17th February, 2021 (Wednesday)(f) 20th February, 2021 (Saturday) as the date by which the election shall be completed. ( 199 ) PUNJAB GOVT. GAZ. (EXTRA), JANUARY 30, 2021 (MAGHA 10, 1942 SAKA) 200 Note: 1) No nomination will be received on 31-01-2021 (Sunday) being a public holiday.

2) Instructions on counting of votes will be issued separately.

3. In pursuance of the provisions of Section 57 of the Punjab State Election Commission Act, 1994 (Punjab Act 19 of 1994), the State Election Commission, Punjab hereby fixes poll hours from 8.00 AM to 4.00 PM during the poll on 14th February, 2021 to conduct the General/Bye elections. Further, in accordance with the instructions contained in the Presiding Officers Diary instruction 69, all electors present at the Polling Station at the hour of the close of poll shall be entitled to have their votes polled.
