NOTIFICATION

The 25th March, 2021

No. 5-Leg./2021.- The following Act of the Legislature of the State of

Punjab received the assent of the Governor of Punjab on the 24th day of

March, 2021, is hereby published for general information:-

THE PUNJAB INFRASTRUCTURE (DEVELOPMENT AND

REGULATION) AMENDMENT ACT, 2021

AN

ACT

further to amend the Punjab Infrastructure (Development and

Regulation) Act, 2002.

BE it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the

Seventy-second year of the Republic of India as follows:-

1. (1) This Act may be called the Punjab Infrastructure (Development

Short-title and commencement.

and Regulation) Amendment Act, 2021.

(2) It shall come into force on and with effect from the date of its

publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Punjab Infrastructure (Development and Regulation) Act,

2002 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), after section 25, the following

section shall be inserted, namely:-

Insertion of new section 25-A in Punjab Act 8 of 2002.

"25-A. Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, theState Government may also levy Special Infrastructure Development fee on petrol, diesel and immovable property at such rate, as the State Levy of Special Infrastructure Development fee. Government may, by notification, direct, for the purpose of which aspecial head shall be created under which the accrued Special Infrastructure Development fee shall be collected and deposited directly into the Development Fund constituted under section 27.".

3. In the principal Act, in section 27, in sub-section (2), for the words

"The amount of fee charged and collected under this Act", the words and

Amendment in section 27 of Punjab Act 8 of 2002.

signs "The amount of fee, except Special Infrastructure Development fee,

charged and collected under this Act" shall be substituted.
