NOTIFICATION
The 1st June, 2023
No. SEC/PE/SA/2023/1406.-Under Rule 41 of the Punjab Panchayat Election Rules, 1994, it is provided that the Commission may from time to time, by a Notification in the official gazette fix limit of maximum election expenses which can be incurred by candidate for election from Zila Parishads, Panchayat Samities and Sarpanches & Panches of Gram Panchayats.
2. In pursuance of the aforesaid provision, the Commission henceforth fixes the maximum expenses limit which can be incurred by the candidate for election from one constituency as under:-
Earlier expenditure Enhanced expenditure
limit (2018). Limit now.
1. Candidate for Zila Parishad Rs. 1,90,000/- 2,55,000/-
2. Candidate for Panchayat Samiti Rs. 80,000/- 1,10,000/-
3. Candidate for the post of Sarpanch Rs. 30,000/- 40,000/-
4. Candidate for the post of Panch Rs. 20,000/- 30,000/-
This Notification is issued in supersession of this office notification issued earlier Vide No. SEC-PE/ SA/2018/307, Dated 18.01.2018.
The said limits will be applicable in all Upcoming Elections.
