NOTIFICATION
The 10th August, 2023
No. S.O. 60/P.A.9/1994/S.209/2023.- In exercise of the powers
conferred by sub-section (1) of section 209 of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act,
1994 (Punjab Act 9 of 1994), and all other powers enabling him in this behalf,
the Governor of Punjab is pleased to direct that the general election of the
members of the-
(i) the Panchayat Samitis and the Zila Parishads, shall be held by the
25th November, 2023; and
(ii) the Gram Panchayats, shall be held by the 31st December, 2023.

ORDER
The 10th August, 2023
No. S.O. 61/P.A.9/1994/S.29-A/2023.- Where as the notification has
been issued under section 209 of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 (Punjab
Act 9 of 1994), vide the Government of Punjab, Department of Rural
Development and Panchayats, Notification No. S.O. 60/P.A.9/94/S.209/2023,
dated the 10th August, 2023 for conduct of the general election of the Gram
Panchayats, before 31st day of December, 2023;
Where as the State Government considers it necessary in public
interest so to do;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 29-A
of the said Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 (Punjab Act 9 of 1994) and all
other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to
dissolve all the Gram Panchayats in State of Punjab, with immediate effect;
and authorise the Director Rural Development and Panchayats-cum-Special
Secretary to appoint persons (Administrators) from amongst the Junior
Engineers, Social Education and Panchayat Officers, Village Development
Officer and Panchayat Officers, subject to their availability in the respective
Block, as the case may be, during the dissolution period of each such Gram
Panchayat (i.e. till the new elected body assumes charges of office) to perform
all the functions and exercise powers of the Gram Panchayats.

No. S.O. 62/P.A.9/1994/S.114-A/2023.- Where as the notification has
been issued under section 209 of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 (Punjab
Act 9 of 1994), vide the Government of Punjab, Department of Rural
Development and Panchayats, Notification No.S.O. 60/P.A.9/94/ S.209/2023,
dated the 10th August, 2023 for conduct of the general election of the Panchayat
Samitis and Zila Parishads, before 25th day of November, 2023;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section
114-A of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 (Punjab Act 9 of 1994), and all
other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to
dissolve the Panchayat Samitis, with immediate effect, and is further pleased
to appoint the persons as specified in column 3 of the Schedule, as
Administrators to exercise all powers and duties of the Panchayat Samitis, so
dissolved during the period of their dissolution, namely:-
