NOTIFICATION

The 9th December, 2023

No. SEC-PE-SA/2023/5049.–The Department of Rural Development and Panchayats, Punjab has issued Notification No.P.A.9/94/S.209/2023/5888 dated 20th June, 2023 that the Bye Election to elect the Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat of Village Bhamme Kalan, (Tehsil Sardulgarh, District Mansa), shall be held accordingly.

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provision contained in section 35 of the Punjab State Election Commission Act, 1994, the State Election Commission, Punjab hereby appoints the following election schedule for Bye Election of Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat of the said village in the State of Punjab with 9th December, 2023 (Saturday) as the first day of filing of nominations:-

PROGRAMME

(a) 13th December, 2023 (Wednesday)

as the last date for making nominations;

(b) 14th December, 2023 (Thursday)

as the date for the scrutiny of nominations;

as the date for withdrawal of candidatures;

(d) 24th December, 2023 (Sunday)

as the date on which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken;

(e) Counting of votes will take place on 24th December, 2023 (Sunday), after the close of poll itself at the polling station.

(f) 26th December, 2023 (Tuesday)

as the date by which the election shall be completed.

Note: 1) 9th December 2023 (Saturday) is not a public holiday, as such the nominations will be

received on that day.

3. In pursuance of the provisions of Section 57of the Punjab State Election Commission Act, 1994 (Punjab Act 19 of 1994), the State Election Commission, Punjab hereby fixes poll hours from 8.00 AM to 4.00 PM during the poll on 24th December, 2023 (Sunday) to conduct the said Bye election. With the issue of this notification, Model Code of Conduct has come into force from the date of announcement of election i.e 9.12.2023, within the revenue jurisdiction of the Gram Panchayat Village Bhamme Kalan, Tehsil Sardulgarh, District Mansa, till the completion of the election process.
