NOTIFICATION

The 17th February, 2023

No. DMER-ME303ME3/3/2023-DMER/334.-The Medical Council of India had notified Post-graduate Medical Education (Amendment) Regulation, 2020 vide notification no MCI-18(1)/2020-Med/121415 dated 16th September, 2020 regarding implementation of the District Residency Programme in the States. National Medical Commission held meeting on 05.07.2022 with Directors of Medical Education of the States regarding implementation of District Residency Programme. Further clarifications have been Issued by NMC vide F.No.NMC-23(1)(25)/2021/PG/053909 dated 22-12-2022 and F.No.NMC/23(1)(25)/2021/Med./001866, dated 19-1-2023

In the above circumstances and to run the programme smoothly, the State Level Steering Committee for District Residency Programme is constituted with the following members:-

1. Administrative Secretary, Medical Education & Research Chairperson

2. Administrative Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Member

3. Director, Medical Education & Research Member

4. Director, Health & Family Welfare Member

5. Registrar, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences Member- Convener

6. Principal/Director Principal of medical colleges having Member

MD/MS courses

The nodal officers for this purpose shall be as under

Assistant State Nodal Officer Deputy Director, Directorate of Health Services Punjab 3. District Residency Programme Coordinator Senior Medical Officer as nominated by the Civil

Surgeon of the concerned district

This rotation shall be termed as 'District Residency Programme (DRP) and the postgraduate medical student undergoing training shall be termed as a District Resident and shall take place in the 3rd or 4th semester of the Postgraduate programme, in order to maintain the year-on-year continuity, DRP program will be implemented for all medical colleges both government and private (including private universities) by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences.
