NOTIFICATION

The 05th November, 2024

No. 13-Leg./2024.- The following Act of the Legislature of the State

of Punjab received the assent of the Governor of Punjab on the 18th day of

October, 2024, is hereby published for general information :-

THE PUNJAB AGRICULTURAL PRODUCE MARKETS

(AMENDMENT) ACT, 2024

(Punjab Act No. 13 of 2024)

AN

ACT

further to amend the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1961.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Seventy-

fifth Year of the Republic of India, as follows:-

1. (1) This Act may be called the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets

(Amendment) Act, 2024.

Short title and commencement.

(2) It shall come into force on and with effect from the date of its

publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1961, in section 12-A,-

(i) for clause (c), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:-

Amendment in section 12-A of Punjab Act 23 of 1961.

"(c) during the period of supersession of the Committees, all

powers and duties conferred and imposed upon the Committee,

its Chairman, Vice-Chairman and other members by or

under this Act, shall be exercised and performed by such

officer, as the Government may appoint in that behalf and

such officer shall continue to do so till the time such Committee

is re-constituted and the Government issues an order in writing

(ii) in the proviso for the words "one year", the words "three years"

shall be substituted.
