NOTIFICATION

No. FOREST-REV10MISC/115/2024-REVENUE BR-HSR DIV-DFWP/15382.-

1. Whereas the areas of village mentioned in the annexed schedule are comprised within the limits of the local areas notified under sec. 3 of the Punjab Land Preservation Act, 1900 vide Punjab Government Notification No. 458-ft, Dated the 23rd September 1914, No, 6530-D-50/5727 Dated 20/11/1950 and 4811-ft- (61//8163 dated 9th June 1961.

2. Whereas the areas mentioned in the schedule of the village Surapur (H.B No 25) Teh. Garhshankar Distt.

Hoshiarpur as detailed in the scheduled of notification No.39/64/2000-Ft-III/9980 Dated 11-07-2002 were closed under section 5 of Punjab Land Preservation Act, 1900 for a period of 20 years.

3. Whereas the area mentioned in the schedule of village Surapur (H.B No 25) Teh. Garhshankar Dist.Hoshiarpur was delisted vide Punjab Government Notification No.39/28/2011-FT-3/5963 Dated 22-08-2012 in the said notification.

4. Now, therefore in respect of the areas comprising khasra No. as given in the Schedule (Table-1) in village Surapur (H.B No 25) Teh. Garhshankar, Distt. Hoshiarpur, the Governor of Punjab is satisfied after the due examination and enquiry and in exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 of the said Act, is pleased to prohibit the following acts in the said area village Surapur (H.B. No. 25) Teh. Garhshankar And Distt. Hoshiarpur for a period of 20 years with effect from the date of this notification in this area mentioned in the schedule.

a. The cultivating of any land ordinarily under cultivation prior to the publication of the notification under section 3.

b. The quarrying of any stone or the burning of any lime at places where such stone or lime had ordinarily been so quarried or burnt prior to the publication of the notification under section 3.

c. The cutting of trees or timber, brushwood lopping of trees, collection of MFP and cutting of Grasses for any purpose provided that the Divisional forest officer, may permit:-

i. The cutting of the dry wood for fuel and for marriage and death ceremonies by persons shown in the

ii. The cutting of green trees or timber after first obtaining a permit to do so from the concerned Territorial Divisional forest officer according to approved management plan, such permits will prescribe such conditions for sale as may from time to time appear necessary in the interest of the forest conservancy.

iii. The cutting of the dry wood for the death ceremonies by person shown in the settlement/revenue records as entitled to do so, the permission of the Divisional Forest Officer shall not be required. For this purpose a simple information to the Forest Guard concerned within a fortnight of felling shall be sent.

iv. The Sustainable collection of Minor Forest Produce/Non-Timber Forest Produce/Medicinal Aromatic Plants including grasses, fruits, leaves, seeds etc. by joint forest Management committee/Self Help Groups, as per the prevailing Joint Forest Management Policy of the State.

v. The cutting or sale of grass during the rainy seasons from such portions of the notification area in which grass may have sufficiently established itself.

vi. The pasturing of any cattle other than goats and camels.
