NOTIFICATION
The 22nd January, 2025
No. S.O. 6163 /P.A.9/1994/S.202/2025.-Whereas the Panchyat Samiti for the newly carved out Block Ahmedgarh, Amargarh and Malerkotla (Head Quarter) in District Malerkotla has been constituted vide the Government of Punjab, Department of Rural Development and Panchayats, Notification No. S.O.6162/ P.A.9./1994/S.98/2025, dated the 22nd January, 2025.
And Whereas, the Governor of Punjab is satisfied that the situation has arisen that the functions of the aforesaid Panchyat Samitis Ahmedgarh, Amargarh and Malerkotla (Head Quarter) cannot be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994, for want of an elected body;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 202 of the Punjab Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 (Punjab Act No. 9 of 1994), and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to declare all functions of the Panchayat Samitis so constituted shall be exercised by the District Development and Panchayat Officer, Malerkotla.
Note :- This notification shall remain in force only for a period of six months or till the date of constitution of elected body, whichever is earlier.
