NOTIFICATION

The 27th December, 2023

No.1/250/2023-5J/782.- According to guidelines vide letter No. V-17013/26/2023-PR, Dated 23.10.2023 issued by Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Women Safety Division, regarding Implementation of Scheme to provide financial support to Poor Prisoners, whereby they will be provided financial support to such Prisoners who are not being released from Jails as they are enable to pay the fine imposed on them or are not able to secure bail due to financial constraints. The following Empowered Committee and Oversight Committee is hereby constituted:

1.      Empowered Committee consisting of:
        (i)     District Collector;
        (ii)    Secretary, District Legal Service Authority;
        (iii)   Superintendent of Police;
        (iv)    Superintendent/Deputy Superintendent of concerned Prison;
        (v)     Judge Incharge of concerned Prison (as nominee of District Judge).
2.      Oversight Committee at State Level consisting of:-
        (i)     Administrative Secretary (Home/Jails):
        (ii)    Secretary, Law Department:
        (iii)   Secretary, State Legal Services Authority;
        (iv)    DG/IG Prisons;
