NOTIFICATION

The 1st December,2025

No. SEC/SA/ZP/PS/2025/666.-Whereas, the Department of Rural Development and Panchayats, Punjab has issued Notification No. P.A.9/1994/S.209/2025/6271 dated 25.09.2025, stating that the General Elections to elect the members of the Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis shall be held by 05.12.2025.

2. Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions contained in Section 35 of the Punjab State Election Commission Act, 1994, the State Election Commission, hereby appoints the following dates for General Elections to elect the members of Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis in the State of Punjab, with 01.12.2025 (Monday) as the date of issuing Notification :-

PROGRAMME

(a) 01.12.2025 (Monday)

first date for filing of Nominations (between 11:00 a.m. to 03:00 p.m.)

(b) 04.12.2025 (Thursday)

as the last date for filing Nominations. (upto 03:00 p.m.)

as the date for Scrutiny of Nominations.

(d) 06.12.2025 (Saturday)

as the last date for withdrawal of Nominations, if any (upto 03:00 p.m.)

(e) 14.12.2025 (Sunday)

as the date on which a poll shall, if necessary, be held,

(f) 17.12.2025 (Wednesday)

Counting of Votes (08:00 a.m. onwards)( 8557 ) PUNJAB GOVT. GAZ. (EXTRA), DECEMBER 1, 2025 (AGHN 10, 1947 SAKA) 8558 (g) 19.12.2025 (Friday) as the date by which the election process shall be completed. 3. In pursuance of the provisions of Section 57 of the Punjab State Election Commission Act, 1994, the Commission hereby fixes poll hours from 08.00 a.m to 04.00 p.m. during the poll on 14th December, 2025.

4. Model Code of Conduct for Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis has come into force from the date of announcement of elections i.e. 28.11.2025 within the revenue jurisdiction of the Gram Panchayats falling under the respective Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis, till the completion of the poll process.
