NOTIFICATION
The 11th December, 2025
No.4/119/DA(SA-1)/MEB/2025/197.- Whereas the Municipal Limits of Municipal Councils, Garh Shankar, Bhucho Mandi, Raman, Banur, Kharar and Nagar Panchyat, Bhikhiwind have been extended by the Government and these Municipalities are due for election in the year 2026 and the number of elected members thereof are required to be determined in accordance with population defined in Section 3 (11a) of the Punjab Municipal Act, 1911.
2. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 8 and sub-section (3)(i) of Section 12 of the Punjab Municipal Act, 1911 of the Determination of the number of Elected Members and Reservation of Offices of Presidents of Municipalities Rules, 1994, and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to re-determine the number of elected members and reservation thereof, on the basis of published population figures of census 2011 against the below mentioned Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats, as indicated in the Schedule, namely:

(EXTRA), DECEMBER 12, 2025 (AGHN 21, 1947 SAKA)Note:- All the previous notifications, if any, w.r.t. determining and reserving the number of seats for Scheduled Caste (Including Scheduled Castes Women), Backward Classes and General in the above mentioned municipality (ies) operative, shall be deemed to have been cancelled with immediate effect from the date of issuance of this notification.
