No. DLG-Census/77/2025/07.-In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 4 of the Census Act, 1948 and Rule 03 of the Census Rules, 1990, as amended, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to appoint the following officers as Divisional Census Officer, Principal Census Officer, District Census Officer/ City Census Officer/Town Census Officer, Additional/Deputy District Census Officer, Sub-Divisional Census Officers, Charge Census Officer and Additional Charge Census Officer to take, aid in and supervise the taking of the Population Census 2027 within the respective areas mentioned below:-

Further, in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (4) of section 4 of the Census Act, 1948 (Act. No. 37 of 1948), as amended, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to direct that power of appointing Census Officers, conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 4 of the said Act shall also be exercisable by the aforementioned Principal Census Officers within the respective areas.

Further, in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 4 of the Census Act, 1948 (Act. No. 37 of 1948), as amended, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to authorize the aforementioned authorities to sign declarations under the aforesaid sub-section for any local areas within the respective jurisdiction.
