NOTIFICATION
The 26th August, 2026
No.H-U/11/2025-6H1/1195.- Whereas, land acquisition proceedings in respect of required 0.55 acres Land (missing Khasra Number) for the public purpose for construction of 200 feet wide PR-7 road for the extension of National Highway No. 21 to Kharar in the area of village Baliyali, Tehsil Mohali, District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar was initiated by publishing a preliminary notification under section 4 of the "Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013" on 28.04.2023 and the publication of Social Impact Assessment Study was also made u/s 6 of the ibid Act.
Whereas, Department of Housing and Urban Development had notified u/s 11 and U/s 19 notification on 09.09.2024 and on 02.09.2025 respectively under the ibid Act. Accordingly, the announcement of award U/s-25 of "The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013" is supposed to be made by 02.09.2026. However, As per the demand of the Land owners cash compensation is to be disbursed but the market rate is yet to be finalized due to non-availability of certain sale deeds from the Department of Revenue Rehabilitation and Disaster Management, Punjab.
Therefore, In view of the above, the Governor of Punjab is satisfied that the period of announcement of award needs extension as acquisition of the land is necessitated in the public interest. Thus, in exercise of the powers conferred under U/s 25 of "The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013" and all other provisions in this Act enabling him 3762 PUNJAB GOVT. GAZ. (EXTRA), AUGUST 26, 2026 (BHDR 4, 1948 SAKA) in this behalf, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to notify the extension in the time period of announcement of award of the above project by six months i.e. from 02.09.2026 to 02.03.2027. This issues with the approval of Competent Authority.
