Under sub-section (1) of Section 15 of the Tamil Nadu Highways Act, 2001 (Tamil Nadu Act 34 of 2002), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby acquires the lands specified in the Schedule below measuring, an extent of 3542.5 Sq. metres of Ryotwari Dry House Site lands to the same, a little more or less needed for Highways purpose, to wit, for the formation of By-Pass Road to Namakkal Town, in Namakkal District. The Plan of the lands are kept in the office of the District Collector, Namakkal and may be inspected at any time during office hours.

No.II(2)/LE/459/2018.—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 3 and sub-section (2) of Section 5 of the Minimum wages Act, 1948 (central Act XI of 1948) and in supersession of the Labour and Employment Department Notification No. II(2)/(LE)/685/2013, published at pages 606 and 607 of Part II - Section 2 of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, dated the 4th September 2013, the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby revises the minimum rates of wages payable to the category of apprentices engaged in the Employment in Textile Mills, including composite Mills, Spinning Mills, weaving Mills, Open Ended Mills and the various processes in the above said mills like Blow Room, carding, Drawing, Fly Frames, Spinning, winding, Doubling, Reeling, Packing, warping-Sizing and other processes in the textile mills, whether carried out singly or together in the State of Tamil Nadu, as Rs.261.00 (Rupees two hundred and sixty one only) per day and the Dearness Allowance as provided in the Explanations given hereunder, the draft of the same having been previously published as required by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 5 of the said Act. 2. This notification shall come into force with effect on and from the date of its publication in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette.

Explanations : (1) In addition to the minimum rate of basic wages revised above. the apprentices shall be paid dearness allowance as specified below:-

Disputes between Workmen and Managements referred

to Labour Courts for Adjudication.

(i) The dearness allowance is linked to the average of chennai city consumer Price lndex for the year 2010, that is, 161 points (with base 2001=100) and for every rise of one point over and above 161 points, an increase of Rs.01.60 (Rupee One and sixty paise only) shall be paid as dearness allowance per day.

(ii) The dearness allowance shall be calculated every year on the first April on the basis of the average of the indices of the preceding twelve months, that is from January to December.

(iii) The first calculation shall be effective from the date of publication of this Notification in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette based on the Average consumer Price lndex number for the previous year.

(2) where the nature of work is the same, no distinction in the payment of wages shall be made as between men and women apprentices.

(3) To arrive at monthly wages, the daily wages shall be multiplied by 30

(4) wherever the existing wages are higher than the minimum wages fixed therein, the same shall be continued to be paid.
