Under Sections 12(1) and (3) of the Thanjavur Tamil University Act, 1982, His Excellency the Governor- Chancellor of Tamil University has appointed Dr.G. Balasubramanian, Professor – Serving as Rector, Dravidian University, Kuppam, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh – 517 426, as the Vice-Chancellor of Tamil University, Thanjavur for a period of three years with eﬀect from the date of his assuming oﬃ ce.
