NOTIFICATIONS BY GOVERNMENT
RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND PANCHAYAT RAJ DEPARTMENT
AMENDMENTS TO THE TAMIL NADU PANCHAYATS (ELECTIONS) RULES, 1995 [G.O. (Ms.) No.152, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (PR-1), 16th October 2018.] No. SRO A-49(c) /2018.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 242 read with sections 11, 20, 32 and 57 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 21 of 1994), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendment to the Tamil Nadu Panchayats (Elections) Rules, 1995:-
Amendment
In the said Rules, in rule 29, after sub-rule(2), the following sub-rule shall be inserted, namely:-
"(2A) The Returning Officer shall, on receiving objection under sub-rule(2) in writing, issue an acknowledgment in the format specified by the State Election Commission".
