To facilitate eﬀective service and to enable the public to obtain the services of Town and Country Planning Department at local level, the Hon'ble Minister for Housing and Urban Development made an announcement on the ﬂ oor of Assembly during the year 2017-2018 for formation of New Regional Oﬃ ce at Tiruppur by Splitting the Jurisdiction of Salem and Coimbatore Regions and Comprising Tiruppur and Erode Districts.

2. In the letter ﬁ rst read above, the Commissioner of Town and Country Planning has stated that the Tiruppur District comprises of 9 Taluks such as Tiruppur North, Tiruppur South, Avinashi, Palladam, Udumalaipettai, Madathukulam,1106 TAMIL NADU GOVERNMENT GAZETTE [Part II—Sec. 2 4. The Commissioner of Town and Country Planning has proposed the ﬁ nancial implication for formation of New Regional Oﬃ ce at Tiruppur comprising the whole Tiruppur and Erode Districts as its jurisdiction of Town and Country Planning Department as indicated below:-

Kangeyam, Uthuguli and Dharapuram. The ﬁ rst six Taluks are looked after by Coimbatore Region and the remaining Taluks are looked after by Salem Regional Oﬃ ce. Hence, the people of Tiruppur District have to travel to Salem Regional Oﬃ ce and Coimbatore Regional Oﬃ ce to get planning permission. It leads to hardship and confusion to the General Public of Tiruppur District. The Commissioner of Town and Country Planning has further stated that to reorganize the working of regional oﬃ ces, a new Regional Deputy Director Oﬃ ce at Tiruppur may be· formed to look after the two districts such as Erode and Tiruppur Districts since the Coimbatore Regional Oﬃ ce has to look after the two Districts such as Nilgiri and Coimbatore Districts and the Salem Regional Oﬃ ce has to look after the two Districts viz., Salem and Namakkal Districts.

3. Further the Commissioner of Town and Country Planning has proposed the Redeployment of staﬀ from other oﬃ ces of Town and Country Planning Department for formation of New Regional Oﬃ ce at Tiruppur comprising the whole Tiruppur and Erode Districts as its jurisdiction as indicated below:-

Development Authority 9. The expenditure shall constituted an item of "New Instrument of Service". The approval of the Legislature will be obtained in due course. Pending approval of the Legislature, the expenditure will be initially met by sanction of an advance from the Contingency Fund, orders regarding which the Government in Finance (BG-I) Department will issue. The Commissioner of Town and Country Planning is directed to send necessary proposals to Government in Finance (BG-I) Department, in the prescribed format along with a copy of this order for sanction of an advance required for the current year from Contingency Fund, without fail.

7. The Government also accord administrative sanction for incurring an expenditure of Rs.15,49,000/-(Rupees Fifteen Lakh forty nine thousand only) which includes recurring expenditure of Rs. 4.74 lakh and non recurring expenditure of Rs.10.75 lakh towards the expenditure for functioning of New Regional Oﬃ ce at Tiruppur.

8. The expenditure sanctioned in para 7 above shall be debited to the following head of account:-

10. The Commissioner of Town and Country Planning is authorized to draw and disburse the amount sanctioned in para 7 above.
