DECLARATION OF CERTAIN POLICE OFFICERS/PERSONNEL AS DESIGNATED OFFICERS UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE ELECTION COMMISSION.
[G.O.Ms.No.353, Home (Police-XIII), 11th July 2019, ஆனி 26, விகாரி, திருவள்ளுவர் ஆண்டு–2050] No. II(2)/HO/574(a)/2019.
Under section 28-A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (Central Act XLIII of 1951), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby declares the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu, Chennai-4, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Chennai-4 and the Superintendent of Police, Vellore District and all Police Offi cials subordinate to them upto the level of Police Constables and any other Police Offi cers / Offi cials performing in any way the election related duties for the conduct of General Election to be held on the 5th August, 2019 to 8.Vellore Parliamentary Constituency as Designated Offi cers and all the said Offi cers shall be deemed to be on deputation to the Election Commission for the period commencing on and from the date of the notifi cation calling for the said Election and ending with the date of declaration of the result of the said Election and accordingly, the said Offi cers shall, during that period, be subject to the control, superintendence and discipline of the Election Commission.
