Amendment to the Constitution of Fifteenth Finance Commission

[G.O. No. 244, Finance (Finance Commission-I), 2nd August 2019, Aadi 17, Vikari, Thiruvalluvar Aandu-2050.]

No. II(1)/FIN/12/2019.—The following Order of the Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs, New Delhi, dated 27th November 2017 is republished:—

ORDER

In pursuance of clause (1) of Article 280 of the Constitution, read with the provisions contained in the Finance Commission (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1951 (33 of 1951), the President is pleased to further amend the order number S.O.3755 (E), dated the 27th November, 2017, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, sub-section (ii), dated the 27th November, 2017, namely:-

In the said order,–

(a) in paragraph 3, for the words, fi gures and letters "the 30th day of October, 2019", the words, fi gures and letters "the 30th day of November, 2019" shall be substituted;

(b) after paragraph 9, the following paragraph shall be inserted, namely:-

"9A. The Commission shall also examine whether a separate mechanism for funding of defence and internal security ought to be set up, and if so, how such a mechanism could be operationalised";

(c) in paragraph 11, for the words, fi gures and letters "the 30th day of October, 2019", the words, fi gures and letters "the 30th day of November, 2019" shall be substituted.
